Have you tried turning it off and then on again? Blackberry Bold Missing Sync

Make a contact (perhaps First Name iPhone, Last Name Dictionary so you remember) and put in the company field all the words you don’t want auto-corrected.

That’s it.

I think it is daft that we have to go to such lengths, but fab that there is a work around. I have sent so many SMS, tweets, and social network messages with gaffs in them thanks to the iPhone auto-correct feature. It is a godsend when typing quickly on the phone as it catches most of the miss-types fairly intelligently, but its when it has corrected something you meant to type that it gets infuriating.

Thanks to a fairly cryptic tweet from @goobimama of Smoking Apples. ‘Ducking He’ll’. I’m a bit slow.

I have a 3G and tried this but still no luck. My problem is just irritating. When I type im it is always corrected to IM. I want it to autocorrect to I’m. I put IM in the Company field of a contact. What have I done wrong?

If I use my husband’s Iphone 3G, it automatically corrects to I’m.

I think you misunderstand – my poor communication skills! In the custom dictionary you put in the words you use that you don’t want auto corrected to something else. So as you don’t want IM you also don’t want it in the dictionary!

As to why your iPhone choses IM over I’m, I don’t know. Perhaps IM is also one of your contacts?
